Terms of Service

The Service

LeanImg is a set of free image tools that run inside your web browser: compression, resizing, cropping, format conversion, icon generation, background removal, upscaling, image to text and PDF to text. By using the site, you agree to these terms. Each tool processes your files on your own device, using WebAssembly and your browser's built-in image APIs. There is no upload step and no server-side processing, so your images are never transmitted to us, and we have no way to view, copy or store them.

Acceptable Use

You are responsible for the files you process and for what you do with the results. You agree not to:

• process content that you do not own or otherwise have the right to use;
• use the tools for any unlawful purpose, or to produce or distribute unlawful material;
• attempt to disrupt or overload the site, or to gain unauthorized access to the systems that serve it.

No Warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the tools will be uninterrupted or error free, or that any given file will compress, resize or convert successfully. Results depend on your browser, your device and the file you supply. Keep your own copy of any original before you process it.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, files, profits or business, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. That includes damage to or loss of an image you processed with a tool on this site. The tools are free to use, and you accept them on that basis.

Your Images and Intellectual Property

You keep every right you already hold in the images you process here, and in the files the tools produce from them. Because those files stay on your device, we never receive them, and we take no license, ownership or other interest in them. The site itself, including its name, design and text, stays with us and our licensors, and these terms grant you no rights in it beyond ordinary use of the tools. The published source code is licensed separately under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0.

Advertising, Analytics and Privacy

The site uses analytics, and may display advertising, to keep the tools free. Analytics records how the tools are used, which includes the number of files you selected and their total size, but never the files themselves or anything of their content. Our Privacy Policy describes what is collected and by whom, and it forms part of these terms.

Operator and Governing Law

These terms are an agreement between you and Low Battery Studios (KVK 42081370), Netherlands, which operates LeanImg. Dutch law governs these terms. Legal notices can be sent to ask@lowbatterystudios.net.
